This ultimate breakfast sandwich is open-faced so it gives two sandwiches to eat. This is a great way to start your morning.
This is the ultimate brakfast sandwich. It is packed with some of your favorite breakfast ingredients and put on an English muffin. The sandwich is served open-faced so you get two sandwiches instead of one. It also takes very little time to put together.
English muffins are the bread that holds this tasty sandwich together. Bacon is a food that most everyone loves and it is definately a quintessential breakfast food. Top that with a tomato for flavor. And then a piece of American cheese for that melty cheesy flavor to top off the sandwich. And you have your self a winner.
We like to use yellow American cheese, but you can use white American if you like. The bacon we mmake is crispy, but again you can make it the way that you like. When we make these sandwiches we use tin foil on a small sheet pan for easy clean up. They cook ell in a small toaster oven as well as a regular oven.
There are many breakfast sandwiches you can eat, but try this one. You don't have to add the tomato if you don't like tomatoes and you can still have a good sandwich. Found that out since my sister hates raw tomatoes we leave them off of hers, and she really likes them a lot.
Ingredients for this ultimate breakfast sandwich
- English muffin, toasted
- Bacon, crispy, break each slice in half
- Tomatoes, 4 nice slices
- Cheese, one slice for each muffin

Getting started with the sandwich
You start making the ultimate breakfas sandwich by cutting one english muffin in half and toast it. This is the base of the open faced breakfast sandwich. Next take two crisp pieces of bacon and break each one in half and place them onto the english muffin. A whole slice on each.

Cover the bacon with two slices, not too thick, of the tomato.

Finally top the ultimate breakfast sandwich with a piece of American cheese on each english muffin half. We like to use either white american cheese or yellow american cheese.

We grew up with my dad making this recipe on the weekends and it was one of my favorite breakfasts! We used sharp cheddar (to cut the saltiness of the bacon and mayo) and topped it all with lots of freshly cracked pepper. Thanks for publishing this recipe so others can experience this delicious recipe!
Hi Jes,
We agree! It's a nice sandwich to have for breakfast. You and your dad have great taste!
So funny everyone's dad/grandfather made these. My dad also used to make these for a quick dinner sometimes when I was growing up. We put muffin-cheese-tomato-bacon. I also like adding some Italian seasoning and Balsamic glaze or tiger sauce on top. So nostalgic!!
