Cream Sauce with Chicken Flavor

This is basically a white sauce that we added some chicken flavoring for the taste. A white sauce, which is also known as Béchamel sauce, is a versatile sauce. There are only a few ingredients to make a white sauce, but you can change the flavor by adding chicken cubes, cheddar cheese for a cheese sauce, or parmesan cheese for an Alfredo sauce. It is always good and is pretty quick to make.

There are only a few ingredients you need to make this sauce. You probably have all of them in your kitchen right now.

The first thing you do is melt the butter in a saucepan, then add the flour and mix till it is combined. Cook on low for about one minute; it will thicken.

After the flour mixture is thickened, add the milk and whisk or stir the milk on medium heat until all combined and thickened.

Now for a little flavor, we add salt, pepper, and chicken bouillon cubes to the pot to make it flavorful. Two cubes seems to be the right amount for flavor with this amount of milk. If you want to, you could add another cube, whatever you like. It mixes into the sauce quicker if you break the chicken cubes apart first, then whisk together with the salt and pepper. Plenty of flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 4 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 chicken bouillon cubes
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan, then add the flour and whisk for about one minute
  2. Add the milk and whisk until it starts to boil and thicken.
  3. Stir in the salt and pepper, then add the bouillon cubes and stir until completely dissolved.
  4. Serve as a sauce or gravy on items such as chicken croquettes.
