Tomato Sauce
This tomato sauce has plenty of flavor since it is made from stewed tomatoes rather than plain tomatoes. The stewed tomatoes have a mixture of onions, peppers, and celery to give it more taste. The only addition to this flavorful sauce is a small can of tomato sauce and a thickener. These few ingredients make it a quick sauce to whip up in no time. Really good to serve over macaroni.
We find it is especially good with meatloaf or a salmon salad if you serve it with noodles. The tomato with both of these meals always makes the meal taste better. If you want a quick sauce for macaroni try this one time, we think you will enjoy it.
Ingredients
1- 15 oz. can of stewed tomatoes
1-8 oz. can tomato sauce
¼ cup cold water
2 T. flour
Instructions
Put the can of stewed tomatoes in a blender and pour into a saucepan.
Add the tomato sauce to the pan.
When it gets hot mix the flour with the water until smooth.
Add some of the hot tomato mixture into the flour mixture and mix until smooth.
Pour this mixture into the tomato sauce and stir until it comes to a boil
