Who doesn't like Oreo cookies with the chocolate cookie and the sweet cream filling? There is even an Oreo cookie ice cream, so making an ice cream cake using an Oreo crust is just a no brainer. It is an easy recipe with just a few ingredients that are thrown together in a cuisinart. The crust can then be used for pies, cheesecakes, or ice cream cakes.
Making the Oreo Cookie Crust
The first step is taking 24 Oreo cookies and putting them into a cuisinart and grind them until they are all a fine texture. Don't leave any big lumps of cookie in the mix, because you want to be able to press the crust into the pan.
Oreo cookie crust ready to be used
Add the melted butter to the cuisinart through the tube or just pour over the cookie crumbs, doesn't matter, they will mix up well. The cookie crust is now ready; the consistency of the cookies are now able to hold together when you put them into the pan .
The best way to press the cookie crust into a pan is using the back of a small measuring cup. The crust comes together nicely and all the same size. You can put the cookie crust into any size pan and bake or freeze before you add the filling.
