Freezes are a delicious, frozen drink with plenty of fruity flavor. They are made with sherbet and club soda, flavored soda, and sometimes with ice cream added into the mix. Our take on the freeze is the ones we have always had in our family.
The cold drink is great for a hot summer day or whenever you are in the mood for a fruity drink. We live in Florida and the weather is pretty hot, so this is a refreshing drink when coming in from outside.
To make this concoction, you only need two ingredients: Your favorite flavor of sherbet for the fruity flavor and some 7-up for the liquid to thin out the sherbet. The only things left are toppings to make the drink look really great. We like to top it off with whipped cream and a slice of lime, but you can always use a cherry or top it off with a piece of chocolate mint candy.
Scoops of lime sherbet and lemon lime soda
Making the drink:
In a blender, add about 5 scoops of lime sherbet, then add about ½ cup of soda and mix on medium speed. If the sherbet is still too thick, add another ¼ cup of the soda. If the mix is still too thick, add a little more soda till it is the right consistency. Just make sure that the mixture is thick, but still liquid enough to pour and drink with a straw.
Top it off with whipped cream, really need whipped cream with many pretty drinks, then top with a slice of lime. Enjoy!
