Lemon-Lime Watermelon mock-tail is a sweet refreshing drink on a hot summer day. It is great for barbecues and get togethers and is very easy to make. Something you want to have in your recipe file when watermelon season arrives. Luckily, it is watermelon season now, yeah!
Soon as watermelons start to show up at your stores or sometimes on the side of the road, we always think of nice, cold, sweet watermelons. There is nothing better on a really hot day. Living in Florida like we do, there are many of them. When we get them, there are so many ways to cut them up. You can slice them up in chunks or strips or, our new favorite way, cut all of the rind off of the melon and slice big slabs off. You can then make wedges or just chunks or blocks out of the sliced wedges. Now, you can either enjoy the lovely fruit as it is or make this delicious beverage out of it.
This drink is really easy to make; just add everything in the blender together, then pour into a glass with ice and decorate. They look really nice and taste great!

Ingredients for the mock-tail:
You need chunks of watermelon, lemon juice, lime juice, simple syrup, lime seltzer, and lime wedges for garnish.
Cutting the Watermelon:
To get nice chunks from your watermelon , we start by slicing the top and bottom off of the watermelon; this makes the melon easier to stand and not fall over. Plus, it gives us a good point to cut from.
Slice the rind off by slicing in a curve down the side, not a straight cut downward. Keep doing this until all of the rind is off.
Slice the watermelon into wedges.
Cut each wedge into about 1 inch lines, then cut the other way until you have chunks.
Making the drink:
In a blender, put the chunks of watermelon, then add all the rest of the ingredients. easy peasy!
Mix everything in the blender until all the fruit is blended up nicely.
Pour the mixture into a glass with some ice, add a skewer of watermelon chunks, and a slice of lime.
