Green beans mixed with bacon make a delicious side dish. Crisp up some bacon in a pan and your kitchen starts to smell amazing. When they are done you can pour off most of the grease, just leave a little for that extra good flavor. Add some onions and the green beans and in a short time your side dish is ready.
Green beans are always around so you can eat them any time, but the summer months are when they are the freshest in the stores. Their bright green color and crispness make them a hit with most everyone.
They are also a versatile vegetable and their are many ways to serve them. They can be cooked with cheese or nuts, served as a main dish like bacon, beans, and potatoes. They can also be served on top of salads, so many ways.

Ingredients
4 slices bacon
⅛ cup onions, chopped
1 bag fresh green beans
½ cup water
salt
pepper
⅛ cup onion, chopped
Instructions
Cut the bacon into ¾ inch pieces and fry in a pan until crisp. Drain the grease, but save about 1 tablespoon.
Add the onions to the bacon grease for about one minute then add t he green beans.
Add the water to the green beans, cover and cook for about 15 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper
Notes
You can use frozen green beans in this recipe as well. Canned green beans are a little soft for this recipe.
