Bratwurst and Sauerkraut

Ingredients

  • 2 T. oil
  • 5 Bratwurst
  • 1 1/2 T. oil
  • 1 cup of sliced onions
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 pack of sauerkraut
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. caraway seeds
  • 1 bottle of beer

Instructions

  1. Add the oil to a big pan
  2. Brown the bratwurst until they are browned on both sides and take out and let rest on a plate.
  3. Add the rest of the oil to the pan
  4. Add the onions and cook for about 5 minutes
  5. Now add the garlic and cook for another minute or two.
  6. Add all of the sauerkraut from the bag  into the pan and mix together
  7. Add the brown sugar and caraway seeds, and the beer and mix again.
  8. Let come to a boil and turn down to low.Cover the pan and let cook for about 1 1/2  to 2 hours.
